The C. V. Åkerlund Media Foundation's autumn application round will be open from 1 to 31 August 2026.
Funding can be applied for through three separate calls:
The Foundation particularly encourages the submission of new concept papers in the August application round. A concept paper is the first stage of a two-step application process in which the most promising ideas may proceed to the full project funding application stage.
Concept papers can be submitted in both the spring and autumn application rounds. An approved concept paper is a prerequisite for applying for project funding.
For the first time, the Foundation will organise a separate application round for grants supporting the completion of master's theses.
The purpose of this change is to offer students an opportunity to apply for funding at a stage when it can most effectively support the completion of their thesis. In 2026, the grant amount is €1,500.
Thesis completion grants will no longer be awarded through the spring application round, nor can they be awarded retrospectively.
Application forms, detailed instructions and call-specific criteria will be available on the Foundation's website when the application round opens.
We encourage all applicants to review the guidelines well in advance and prepare their applications before the August application period begins.
The application period is open from 1 to 31 August 2026.
