Where Can We Make a Difference in the Media Sector?
We have updated and sharpened our strategy for 2027–2030. We have clarified the development we aim to advance through our funding and the changes we seek to bring about.
What do we fund?
Our funding priorities tell applicants what kinds of projects the Foundation supports. They focus on:
- Strengthening fact-based, pluralistic journalism.
- Renewing storytelling, information gathering and visual expression.
- Promoting responsible journalism.
- Deepening audience understanding and building an effective presence across platforms.
Where do we aim to make a difference?
We strengthen opportunities for young professionals and those at the beginning of their careers. We work to improve the standing and operating conditions of journalistic non-fiction, use the Åkerlund Journalism Award to recognise outstanding journalism and highlight issues that deserve attention, and strengthen Nordic research and collaboration.
Our strategy guides our work and funding decisions in the years ahead.
